Grow in Grace

"He writes the same way in all his letters, speaking in them of these matters. His letters contain some things that are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort, as they do the other Scriptures, to their own destruction. Therefore, dear friends, since you have been forewarned, be on your guard so that you may not be carried away by the error of the lawless and fall from your secure position.”

— 2 Peter 3:17-18

Gracious Lord Jesus, my friend and my King,

As I conclude the letter of 2 Peter, I stand forewarned of the Day of the Lord. It is coming. I am not unaware. Therefore, I am to be on my guard and watch out for the spiritual error and lies of false teachers and lawless people who want to carry me away in their error and falsehood. In order to stand guard and not fall from my security in You, I am to grow in You. The environment where I am growing is in Your grace. Your grace is limitless, it’s infinite. It is not Your grace that grows, rather it is in this ocean of infinite grace where I grow. I also grow in knowledge. I grow in my knowledge about You, but more importantly knowing You. Knowing You intimately, deeply, as my Lord and my Savior. I give You all the glory right now today and in eternity forever. I give You my “Amen,”—“So let it be done.”

Lord Jesus, thank You for Your grace that I am growing in. Your grace is always infinite, always everlasting, always bottomless, always shoreless. It cannot be more and it cannot ever be less. May I grow in Your deep sea of limitless grace.

— In Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen!
