Gathered at the Door

He also drove out many demons, but he would not let the demons speak because they knew who he was." — Mark 1:32-34 Gracious Lord Jesus, my friend and my King, When the sun goes down and the priorities of our day are done, when darkness creeps in, it seems that is when our frailty and our sin-sickness is most evident. Our self-led energy wanes and we come to the end of ourselves. On this particular evening, the whole town gathered at your door, bringing all the sick and demon-possessed. No longer content with life lived under the crushing weight of sin, sickness, and spiritual oppression, they came to you. A whole town gathered and many were healed. Many demons were driven out.
